TEACHING YOGA: For adults, I teach a dynamic Hatha Flow class focusing on asanas
(postures) and pranayama (breathing techniques). For children, I teach an inspiring and imaginative Hatha Yoga class through rhymes, story-telling and games using the Yoga Bananas Technique. I enjoy teaching each
individual student, observing the way the body and the mind adapts,
seeing inner and outer strength develop and watching their confidence
soar as they spend time getting to know themselves. (PGCE, QTS, RYTC, YBT, BAHons)
ABOUT ME: I am a certified Hatha Yoga teacher and also a primary school
teacher, particularly interested in the research of yoga in education. I started my journey with Iyengar Yoga in 2005 and became interested in Raja Yoga
(science of the mind/yoga philosophy). I was amazed at the positive
change in my mind and my body so continued to practice
yoga as a healing therapy. Daily Yoga has helped me to recover
from a number of physical and mental ailments. My practice
is influenced by different branches of yoga including Hatha, Iyengar, Vinyasa flow,
Bikram and Integral Yoga. I have been privileged
to experience training with Rowan Cobelli and Siva Trefzer of Integral
yoga, Master Yoga Teacher Paul Jerard and the inspiring Skippy Oliver in the Yoga Bananas Technique.
HOBBIES: I love the beach, walking the dog, surfing, swimming, SUP Yoga.
FAVORITE MUSIC: Medicine for the People.
WORDS TO LIVE BY: “If you think you are too small
to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito.” - Dalai Lama XIV.
